“The real question’s not going to be this year — numbers-wise it doesn’t make sense,” Antetokounmpo said. “But next year, next summer it would make more sense for both parties. Even then, I don’t know.”
He added: “I would not be the best version of myself if I don’t know that everybody’s on the same page, everybody’s going for a championship, everybody’s going to sacrifice time away from their family like I do. And if I don’t feel that, I’m not signing.”
This is really, really bad for the Bucks. They have an aging core and now their best player has given one of his first signs that he wants out. We are not high on this Bucks team at all this year and if they have a down season Giannis may ramp up the pressure even further.
We are rooting for him to remain a Buck because seeing players stay with the teams that draft them is becoming more and more rare.
Even the Buck’s SB Nation Blog is saying this raises questions about his future with the Bucks.
