The Red River showdown is the biggest weekend game between Texas and Oklahoma. This game will be a hard-fought battle with two outstanding offenses going at each other. We like Oklahoma in this game to cover the +5.5-point spread. There are a few key areas in which the Sooners will have an advantage, and one of the spots is downfield throws. Oklahoma has 65 passes of 10+ yards this season, and Texas’s defense is 2nd in the Big 12 in allowing passes 10 yards or more and has given up multiple 50-yard plays this season. If Oklahoma’s offensive line can hold up this offense will have no trouble passing the football all day. We like Oklahoma’s defense to play better than Texas and limit the Longhorns’ big plays, and with Dillion Gabriel throwing the ball for the Sooners, we want him to have a big day versus the Longhorns.

Our Pick: Oklahoma +5.5
